Siobhán “Shiv” O’Shea, an Irish pirate lass of sweet-appearing nature, questionable reputation, and killer timing, commands the stage for a one-woman, partially improvised, somewhat rehearsed musical comedy romp. It’s Shiv’s day ashore, best spent belting rowdy Irish pub tunes and traditional sea shanties on her definitely-acquired-honestly acoustic-electric guitar.

Between songs, she spins sharp-tongued tales of life at sea, delivers paternal puns, and sweetly invites unwary passersby and mischievous hecklers alike into conversation—usually just long enough to technically qualify as a cameo appearance. Though she’d never say it aloud, Shiv’s greatest delight is teaching a motley crew of seaworthy souls her favorite shanties and coaxing them into a raucous, foot-stomping chorus—or seven—before they realize they’ve joined the crew.

Aside from singing the praises of limitless libations and glorifying the profession of piratical transgression, Shiv is family-friendly… mostly. She promises to save the bawdier verses and saucier jests for the asterisk sets. Parents are welcome to bring their nipperkins to said mature sets as long as they don’t mind being bombarded with many, many questions on the trip home. Sláinte!
